MUNDELEIN – The Illinois State Board of Education is hosting an upcoming hearing on their FY 2011 Budget at Lincoln School in Mundelein on Wednesday, December 9 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, State Rep. Ed Sullivan (R-Mundelein) announced today.
The hearing is the final in a series of eight regional meetings held throughout the state this fall by the Illinois State Board of Education’s Finance and Audit Committee to provide an update on the Board’s budget and priorities for FY 2011. The Board also plans to outline their three Strategic Plan Goals; that (1) Every student will demonstrate academic achievement and be prepared for success after high school, (2) Every student will be supported by highly prepared and effective teachers and school leaders, and (3) Every school will offer a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
The public is invited and welcome to attend the hearing on Wednesday, December 9 at Mundelein School District 75’s Lincoln School Multipurpose Room, located at 200 West Maple Avenue (Route 176). The hearing is scheduled for 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
“This regional budget hearing is a valuable way for local parents and interested community leaders to learn about the direction of education policy in Illinois heading into the new year,” Rep. Sullivan said. “I encourage all those interested in the status and future of education in our community to attend and participate in the dialogue. Together we can ensure the continued strength of our local schools.”
